- Arizona Mak-chang
- Among the many mak-chang houses in Daegu, the Arizona Mak-chang is famous for many reasons.
It first opened in 1991, and there was a huge flag hung on one of the walls of the restaurant.
It was the flag of the state of Arizona.
A frequent customer from its early days, Kevin Rioles (an American) followed his Korean wife to this place and fell in love with the Mak-chang taste and gave the flag of the state of Arizona as a present.
Since then, the Arizona Mak-chang became even more famous and unique as its name.
When asked what is special about the food here, the owner emphasizes well-being.
Regardless of the cost, the owner only uses charcoal from acorn trees which produces strong infrared radiation for a better taste, and also all of the food here, including mak-chang and jaeraegi doesn’t use any chemical seasoning. - Introduction
